What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heat Treat Operator position at Rotary Corporation?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Run heat treat lines assigned.
- Meet hourly production rates expected in heat treat department.
- Inspect items manufactured during production run.
- Record inspection information in the SPC computer.
- The operator may be required to use a hardness tester, bend tester, and grinder to check blade hardness.
- Must learn to operate all measuring and test equipment used in the department, and be responsible for the upkeep of the equipment in his/her work area.
- Must maintain a clean workstation.
- Must follow all safety requirements at all times and follow written procedures.
- Must be willing to receive any cross training that you may be selected for in other departments.
- REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic math skills, literacy, ability to follow work instructions, and must possess superior motor skills.Ability to read flow charts and learn to use various measuring and test equipment.Must become proficient in the use of machinery before the end of the training period.All operators are required to be punctual, conscientious, and honest while performing their tasks.The new operator will start out on day shift for training from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM Monday through Friday until trained to operate all four heat treat lines. When completely trained you will be moved to 2nd shift depending on the needs of the business. Operators are required to work every other weekend.
