Dietary Aide Part time Evenings
Position Authority and Accountability:
The Dietary Assistant assists in the preparation and delivery of resident meals and other nourishments. All duties are performed in accordance with applicable regulations and standards of practice, under the on-site supervision of the Dietary Services Manager. Functions within strictly defined procedures with little latitude for variation or change.
Training/Education/Licensure/Skills or Proficiency Requirements:
Completion of State approved Safety and Sanitation Course.
Functional literacy in written and spoken English.
Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
General Functions:
Accepts assigned duties, instructions, or correction in a cooperative manner, voicing concerns or disagreement in a professional manner through established chain of command.
Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed.
Observes safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to appropriate person or takes corrective action according to establish procedures, works safely without danger to self or others.
Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality, complies with attendance policies.
Assumes accountability for information within personnel policies.
Reports for work with a clean uniform and a neat personal appearance, consistently presents a professional image.
Maintains confidentiality of resident, employee and facility information.
Participates in in-service training programs and completes assignments and return demonstrations as required.
Assumes accountability for using, maintaining and storing facility property according to established policy.
Job Functions:
Prepares and serves beverages per recipes.
Performs food preparation, covering, storage, and labeling tasks as assigned.
Arranges tray and or table settings with proper tableware, condiments, and tray card.
Serves meals to residents in accordance with established schedules, dietary procedures and resident rights/quality of life principals.
Delivers nourishments and supplements to the nurse station for distribution to specific residents.
Assists in maintaining dry storage areas and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies as directed.
Avoids waste of food items and dietary supplies.
Clears tables and removes dishes, trays, and utensils from the dining room to the dishwashing area.
Scrapes, empties soiled dishes, disposes of waste, properly loads dish machine, and operates automated dishwashing solution dispensing systems.
Records wash and rinse temperatures as requested.
Unloads dish machine and sorts clean dishes.
Washes and sanitizes cooking equipment and utensils by hand as necessary.
Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, counters, and preparation and storage areas as directed and according to established schedules, and facility and departmental policies for routine cleaning.
Bags and disposes of garbage according to established procedures.
Delivers soiled tablecloths and dietary linens to laundry.
Performs other dietary or support services projects as assigned by supervisor.
