What You Will Be Doing:
- Review drawings, work instructions, repair specifications and make recommendations as necessary.
- Follow work instructions to disassemble pumps and parts, repair, clean parts. Must be able to perform this task independently.
- Responsible for the repair project throughout its time in Assembly. Work with management, machinists, sales, and engineers to ensure the trouble shooting, communication and resolution of issues in a time sensitive manner.
- Hand dress (grind) parts for proper appearance or functional dimensions.
- Check parts for run-out and critical fits with a high attention to detail.
- Ensure part sizes and dimensions are accurate.
- Must take pictures of assembly process for documentation.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, checklists, records, documents, & pictures with high attention to detail.
- Chase threads and tap holes when needed.
- Operate lift equipment, cranes and fork trucks to safely move parts and pumps.
- Inspect and verify quality of in-process work with precision measurement tools like micrometers, dial indicators and other gauges.
- Conduct hydro testing as specified or required.
- Utilize torches and liquid nitrogen properly and safely.
- Responsible for cleaning pumps and components, may sandblast parts as needed.
- Paint pumps and components. Tag equipment as needed.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Be respectful to co-workers and be part of an environment that fosters teamwork.
- May be asked to work overtime at short notice.
What We Are Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED and three plus years of related experience required. Previous experience repairing high energy pumps is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to prepare routine reports and paperwork.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Able to take responsibility for problem solving & resolving issues as they arise in a timely manner.
- Must have general PC knowledge.
- Must obtain lift equipment certification & OSHA training after hire.
- Requires the ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, cranes and lift equipment, and tool room machines.
- Must have a high attention to detail & can multitask and resolve issues.
- Takes ownership of tasks and their completion.
- Experience and a solid understanding of using precision measurement tools.
- May require the ability to operate welding equipment.
