Rotating Machinery Services Inc. is seeking a MRO Buyer/Purchasing Coordinator to join our team. The primary function of the MRO Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator is to purchase requirements needed to support shop operations. Buy and route emergency requirements to jobs same day or next day. Aid RMS purchasing team and site project managers to ensure parts are available to support shop schedules. Attend weekly shop production meetings and coordinate purchasing actions. Develop and implement shop consumable programs with suppliers. Negotiate and Implement VIM hardware, machine tool automated vending for cutters, and safety supplies as well as driving cost saving opportunities. This position will also monitor open orders across Engineered to order commodities including shipments, deliveries and schedules to ensure dates are achieved.

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quoting, negotiating and order placement of MRO and emergency job commodities.
- Implementation of VIM system for standard hardware and shop support items.
- Purchase indirect shop tooling, cutters, and consumables.
- Implementation of cost saving strategies / volume discounts etc. for MRO buy.
- Create and Process emergency purchase orders to support shop turnaround schedules on weekends.
- Establish supplier promise dates per quoted lead-times.
- Track shipments as needed.
- Monitor and expedite open orders and delivery requirements in Job Boss to support PLW Houston.
- Maintain current delivery dates for production in Job Boss system.
- Manage yearly shop calibration orders.
- Coordinate and resolve nonconforming / deviation request with quality control and engineering.
- Supplier development of local supply chain to reduce lead time for support items.
- Work with engineered to order commodity leaders to maintain schedules and coordinate supplier best practices.
- Attend and hold open-order meetings with lead buyers for assigned commodities.
- Develop and add new suppliers to RMS ASL per purchasing evaluation process.
- Create and submit shipping and requests to RMS shipping receiving department to have material sent to outside services for processing.
- Support Inventory validation / cycle counting and maintenance yearly (Houston)
- Travel to supplier locations for order surveillance when as required by purchasing.
- Other purchasing related tasks as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing, Materials management and planning. Experienced in procuring and managing: MRO, shop items raw Material, gaskets, O-rings, Stampings, hardware, Pipe and fittings as well as many other industrial items.

Knowledge Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of purchasing in a mechanical environment for MRO, consumables, and engineer drawings
- Strong organizational, communication and computer skills required
- Must be able to read and understand Bills of materials, Specifications and Mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of Houston local suppliers for the following commodities: (tooling, cutters, consumables, raw material, metals, catalog part, hardware, seals, O-rings, pipe, fittings, flanges, gaskets as well as many other industrial items)
- Understanding and coordination of emergency logistics incoming form suppliers
- Desired experience in local manufacturing, machining and fabrication.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Required
- Know how to create and review contracts
- JobBOSS is a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred.
- High School Graduate.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- The position will be based full time in our Pearland Works TX facility.
- Travel time expected 0-5%.
- This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Hours, including evenings or weekends as required based on project needs.
- This position can be required to participate in the company random or customer specific drug and alcohol screening and background check.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Work Environment:
Office Environment on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may perform work in a shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
