Rotating Machinery Services Inc. is looking for a Repair Coordinator to join our team.
The Repair Coordinator oversees all phases of rotating equipment repair projects, ensuring timely completion within budget while maintaining detailed documentation. This role involves close collaboration with customers, shop personnel, and vendors to streamline repairs, create job travelers and routers, and assist the Shop Foreman in prioritizing jobs based on mechanic expertise and customer needs. Flexibility is essential, as occasional weekend work may be required. Drawing on rotating equipment experience and strong project coordination skills, the Repair Coordinator optimizes resource allocation and maintains clear communication with stakeholders to drive project success.

- Strong knowledge of industrial pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment repair processes.
- Familiarity with API, ANSI, and OEM specifications for rotating equipment repairs.
PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Repair Process Management:
- Coordinate the intake, disassembly, inspection, repair, and testing of industrial pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment.
- Track and help prioritize multiple repair projects, ensuring efficient turnaround based on customer deadlines and shop capacity.
- Assist the Shop Foreman in job planning and prioritization by aligning tasks with mechanic expertise and workload.
- Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of inspection findings, repair work, and parts replacement.
Customer & Vendor Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and/or sales personnel regarding job status, repair progress, and any changes in scope.
- Work closely with purchasing to source and expedite required parts to minimize downtime.
- Provide clear and timely updates to customers regarding project timelines, work with commercial to clearly identify cost estimates, and final repair documentation.
- Address customer concerns and ensure all repairs meet or exceed expectations.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive repair records, including job travelers, routers, inspection reports, and final repair documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and industry specifications (such as, API, ANSI, OEM).
- Assist in preparing reports on repair turnaround times, costs, and performance metrics for management review.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
- Tie off with QC/QA to ensure all repair work meets quality control and engineering standards before final assembly and shipment.
- Support safety initiatives and ensure all repair activities align with company safety policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in the repair workflow.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: 3 years of experience in a repair coordination, service coordination, or project management role within the rotating equipment industry.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience as a rotating equipment mechanic or working in a rotating equipment repair shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment repair processes.
- Familiarity with API, ANSI, and OEM specifications for rotating equipment repairs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Technical training or certifications in pump/rotating equipment repair is a plus.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- The position will be based full-time in our Mepco facility in Houston, TX manufacturing facility.
- This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. Additional hours, including evenings or weekends may be required based on business needs.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment Drug, Alcohol and Background check.
- This position can be required to participate in the company random drug and alcohol screening policy.
- Ability to lift 30 - 50 lbs.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to legally work in the US and provide proper documentation.
- Ability to sit for long periods of times, able to reach above head, bend and stand.
Work Environment:
- Office/Shop Environment on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may enter a shop environment and will be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- While the work area may be described as generally clean, safe, and "not loud", there will be machining operations that generate moderate noise and metal particles.
