JOB SUMMARY: Mixes and bakes ingredients according to recipes to produce breads, pastries and other baked goods. Creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return.
WORK HOURS: Scheduled hours will vary. Most schedules are overnight or very early morning shifts. May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Although we are interested in providing our employees with a stable work schedule, our ability to do so depends on our assessment of work needs and business conditions.
PAY: Industry competitive rates of pay depending upon education and bakery experience. This is a union position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Scale and mix ingredients necessary to meet production requirements
2. Prepare raw dough for baking various breads, rolls and buns
3. Prepare mixes for cakes and cupcakes
4. Proof products prior to baking
5. Operate ovens and coordinate baking of product, monitoring the product quality during each phase of the production process
6. Assist apprentices and doughnut fryers in developing speed and techniques to produce quality products within established production schedules
7. Assist the Bakery Manager in the overall operation of the department, as required
8. Provide decorating ideas and display suggestions to other staff members, as appropriate
9. Make repairs and adjustments, as needed, to equipment or take action to have repairs made
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ideal candidate will have experience working in a bakery setting. 2-years previous experience as a baker preferred.
2. Must be able to follow recipes as written along with other instructions and procedures
3. Must be age 18 or older
4. Must be able to communicate pleasantly and efficiently with all customers, vendors and fellow employees
5. Effective time management skills, strong work ethic and integrity
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.20 - $21.60 per hour
