Rothe Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Welder to support the NBL Operations Contract at the NASA – Neutral Buoyancy Lab (NBL). The right candidate would be able to quickly learn shop operations, the preferences of the shop’s customers, Prior to employment, the candidate must successfully pass a 6G pipe test (non-rotated).

- Welds shall meet quality assurance standards per AWS D1.1/1.2/1.6.
- The candidate must be able to proficiently lay out or ‘fit-up’, which involves the precise preparation and alignment of components before welding. Correct gaps, alignment, and surface preparation are required.
- Performs all tasks associated with Class B Welding Certification with minimal assistance.
- Candidate must have the knowledge to read and fully understand engineering drawings, understand specifications, and perform quality build-to-print fabrication.
- The candidate must be able to effectively manage time and resources to perform this discipline in a timely manner. Specifically, completing a welding job to meet the assigned budgeted hours.
- Provides communication and insight to Leads and/or Supervisors
- Maintain certification(s) and participate in training.
- Candidate must have the ability to follow written, drawing, and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of welding and grinding procedures.
- Candidate must be a team-oriented individual with initiative, work ethic, diligence, and respect for peers.
- Accept and learn from performance evaluation of candidate’s quality of products fabricated, adherence to facility safety requirements, and within time required.
- Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklift and overhead crane.
- Be proactive in securing the work area by maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to and integrate into a culture of safety, self-reporting, and be able to recognize hazards.
- Ability to perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment a plus.
- US Citizen
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 8-years minimum previous experience welding
- Certification of welding to AWS and/or ASME codes
- Must be proficient in welding low to medium carbon mild steels, stainless steels, and aluminum alloys.
- Welding in the NASA Aerospace industry a plus.
- This position is contingent on successful completion of security badging requirements which include but are not limited to background checks, and drug screening.
- Work Hours: 0730 - 1630
- The work environment is a clean and highly professional facility with various levels of company and customer representatives daily involved within the shop.
- Physical Requirements – Sitting, standing, walking, and lifting to 50 lb.
