Rothman Orthopaedics is looking for a Radiologic Technologist to join our team!
Job Summary :
The Radiologic Technologist operates radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images according to various physician protocols and performs epidural procedures. In addition to the routine tasks, a Radiologic Technologist assumes responsibilities of designated area(s) and assists other departments when available.
Location : 243 Hurffville - Cross Keys Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080
Hours : Mon - Fri : 8am - 4 : 30pm (will work 32 hrs / wk)
Key Accountabilities : Completion of requested x-rays in a timely manner that are of high-quality.
Essential Duties :
- Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.
- Obtains the patient's history to ensure proper scheduling.
- Asks female patients of childbearing age the date of their last menstrual period and ensures that there is no possibility of pregnancy.
- Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answers his / her questions as best as possible.
- Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest.
- Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his / her film badge).
- Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces / develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers.
- Critiques radiographs (density / detail / contrast / positioning / markers / anatomy visible), makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary.
- Along with the pain management team, assists during fluoroscopic procedures ( epidural steroid injections, hip aspirations).
- Reports equipment problems to department supervisor, office manager, and vendor.
- Participates in training of new employees.
- Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards adapted and implemented by x-ray quality assurance policies.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
