Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital is a single-specialty surgical hospital in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Our hospital was developed by Rothman physicians to provide their patients high quality and patient-focused care. Our facility features 6 fully-equipped operating rooms and 24 in-patient rooms. We are equipped for joint replacements, orthopedic surgery, pain management and spine surgery, as well as sports medicine, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow, and hand and wrist procedures. Job Summary:
This position provides clinical care to patients under the supervision of their assigned attending physicians.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of PA
- AANP certified
- NAON certified
- Minimum of 3 years NP experience
- Minimum of 5 years Orthopaedic Experience is a must
- BLS and ACLS required
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Instructs patient and family regarding treatment instructions and medications throughout the Inpatient stay and upon discharge.
- Discuss patient care and necessary home equipment with Inpatient RN and/or Case Manager.
- Review charts preoperatively, discusses any findings with anesthesia.
- Assists physician with research projects as needed.
- Participate in patient care needs including dressing changes, suture/staple removal and application.
- Rounds daily on all inpatients.
- Assist physician during hospital rounds with post-op patients.
- Document all patient interactions following policy and procedures
- Write pre-op and post-op order.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures in relation to surgical admissions and the orthopedic floor processes.
