Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Center City Philadelphia - Hybrid model (1 days home; 4 days onsite per week)
Job Summary:
Seeking experienced Senior Accountant under the direction of the Accounting Manager to support general accounting operations for a Healthcare organization, specifically related to US GAAP basis financials. The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reconciling various account balances, preparing journal entries, general ledger review and maintenance, supporting month-end close procedures, and cross departmental collaborating.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with establishing clear month-end and year-end close processes, including accurate and timely journal entry postings, account reconciliations, account analytics, etc.
- Identify and document processes and procedures to establish and maintain internal controls, which will assist with ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards and timely reporting.
- Assist with external audits to ensure necessary compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financials statements and related analytics.
- Identify improvement opportunities within current accounting systems which will assist the team in gaining efficiencies, where possible
- Establish baseline rationale, supported by applicable GAAP standards, for company-wide accruals.
- Assist management with ad hoc requests and reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
- CPA preferred
- 5-7 years of accounting experience in healthcare preferred; Experience within multi-state/entity healthcare organization is a plus.
- Experience with implementing accounting systems and automation is preferred.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel; Ability to work independently; Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Sage Intaact (accounting system) preferred
