Apprentice Plumber

As an Apprentice Plumber, you will work under the guidance of experienced plumbers to learn the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in plumbing. This position offers hands-on training and the opportunity to develop expertise in various plumbing tasks.

Responsibilities
- Assist in installing and maintaining plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings
- Learn to interpret blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Handle and maintain tools and equipment used in plumbing work
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on plumbing systems
- Follow safety standards and regulations at all times
- Collaborate with senior plumbers to complete projects efficiently

Requirements
- Interest in the plumbing industry and a desire to learn the trade
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with power tools
- Willingness to learn how to read blueprints
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and working in various environments
- Previous experience in fields such as maintenance person work, carpentry, or construction plumbing is a plus

Duties

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drains, sewer lines, and other plumbing systems to ensure efficient and safe functioning.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests using specialized tools, such as an ohmmeter, to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Diagnose and resolve clogs, blockages, and other issues in drains and sewer lines using various techniques, including chemical cleaning and mechanical clearing.
- Install, modify, and replace plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, and water heaters.
- Collaborate with other maintenance professionals to ensure effective and efficient work practices.
- Document all work performed, including the materials and equipment used, to ensure accurate records and future reference.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship in plumbing or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for work-related travel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in cramped spaces.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
- Experience with drain cleaning and repair techniques.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment, including an ohmmeter.
- A commitment to safety and a willingness to continuously learn and improve skills.
