Job Title: Material Hander
Location: Groveton, NH.
Shift: 6:00 am – 6:30 pm / Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Reports to: Foreman
Job Overview: A material handler is responsible for maintaining the production and distribution of materials, including inventory control, staging, stocking, and transporting materials throughout the facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and stocking materials and supplies.
- Locate, verify, and pull materials listed on production orders.
- Delivers materials and supplies to workstations and maintains in-process inventory.
- Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
- Receive, inspect, and store returned materials from production, verifying codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing products.
- Documents product shipments and inventory transactions accurately.
- Perform pre-use inspections and minor maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and debris-free work area.
- Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Contributes to team success by supporting cross-training and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform quality in compliance with required standards.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical degree in a related field or several years of material handling or warehouse experience.
- Prior experience working in Manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Overhead crane, mobile crane, front-end loader, and forklift experience preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material flow practices.
