What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Manager/Lead Bartender position at Roton Point Association?
About Us:
Roton Point is a private beach club in Rowayton, Connecticut, home to over 400 families and generations of summer traditions. This will be our first summer offering a full-service bar! As Roton has historically operated as a legacy BYOB club, members will still be permitted to bring their own beverages outside of the designated bar area (they can also just bring purchased cocktails outside of the bar too). We believe attractive pricing on our beer and wine offerings as well as a stellar low-cost cocktail program will be paramount to our first summer’s success. Equally important will be finding a bar manager who engages with members and becomes part of the fabric of the club.
We’re looking for a responsible, outgoing, and experienced Bar Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of this new amenity.
Position Overview:
As Bar Manager, you’ll take the lead in running a smooth, high-energy, and member-friendly bar operation. This includes everything from bartending and staffing to inventory, scheduling, and helping create a standout cocktail experience. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on role, enjoys getting to know people, and can help deliver the kind of laid-back, high-quality service our members will come to love.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead bartender during bar hours
- Hire and manage 1–2 additional staff members (bartender and/or runner)

- Get to know members and help foster a positive, community-centered atmosphere
- Report directly to the General Manager and coordinate regularly on club events, staffing, and supply needs
