What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Harness Technician position at Rotor Technologies, Inc.?
We are looking to hire an Aircraft Harness Technician to work with our existing team of engineers and technicians on converting a Robinson R44 helicopter to tele-operations. This is a great role for a technician that is interested in building a product from the ground up and isn’t afraid that the manual is still being written.
Responsibilities
- Production of wire harness and cable assemblies using hand and/or power tools (including specialized crimpers, soldering tools, screwdrivers, wire strippers, precision measuring instruments, etc.)
- Daily cable and harness techniques (wire cutting, cable prep and layup, connectorization, crimping, soldering, jacketing, braiding, molding, use of lacing tape and spot ties for open wire bundles, testing, etc.)
- Read and interpret work instructions, schematics, wirelists and drawings.
- May be utilized in other electrical Integration and Test activities as well, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Ensure work is done with completeness, and accuracy with adherence to schedules and assigned tasks.
- Compile, record, and analyze test data and results to determine conformance to supplied documentation.
- Communicate recommendations, issues, and risks to engineers and management.
- Support the engineers in assessing and recommending design modifications.
Requirements
- HS diploma and 2 years of relevant experience required.
- Cable harness fabrication and assembly experience, preferably in an aviation application.
- Must understand proper crimping and stripping methods.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment to perform required functions.
- Ability to accomplish complex wiring tasks.
- Experience with various hand tools and test equipment to include: Wire strippers, crimpers cutters, DMM’s, Pin pullers and soldering irons.
- Ability to read, interpret, understand, apply, and enforce engineering, technical, and maintenance specifications, policies, standards and procedures to ensure the quality and safety of assemblies.
- Ability to communicate with the engineer/designer on any issues pertaining to the task.
- Ability to work within specific compliance standards and with accepted practices and work assignments.
- English proficiency is required
- Ability to work as a team member.
