Job Description
This role involves creating revisions to detail parts and assemblies, with an emphasis on maturing design concepts to support revision or new part releases when necessary. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating CAD models and engineering for the airframe, researching technical data, and developing solutions for projects. They will also coordinate with other engineering, manufacturing, or specialty personnel to resolve problems and execute revision routing.
Key tasks include supporting the development of product changes and improvements, responding to data/action requests from procurement and manufacturing, preparation of engineering change requests and change orders, and engineering drawing maintenance. This role requires the application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to provide technical solutions to complex problems.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, enabling them to coordinate design activities, prioritize tasks, and report status to design leads. Building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and horizontal integrations across teams is essential for completing design tasks. Proficiency in SolidWorks software is required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- 5 years aerospace structural design experience
- BS Aerospace or mechanical engineering degree
- Previous experience in Aviation Design
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Pass a drug and alcohol screen
