What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bondo Technician position at Rotorcraft Repair & Manufacturing, LLC?
Position Summary
Repair damaged helicopter blades by filling dents and imperfections with body filler (commonly known as "Bondo") to create a smooth surface for painting.
Principal Responsibilities
- Identify Dents: Look for dents and other imperfections circling them as they are found
- Operate Tools: Correctly operate hand and power tools such as orbital sanders
- Bondo Application: Mix and apply body filler to fill dents and imperfections
- Sanding and Shaping: Carefully sand the Bondo to achieve a smooth, even surface
- Update Traveler: Record completed work including sandpaper grit and Bondo expiration date
- Use PPE: Properly use all safety equipment, such as respirator, dust mask, and all other PPE
Position Requirements
- Hand Sanding Experience
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 50lbs individually.
- Must be able to work on your feet all day performing tasks such as bending, stooping, pulling, reaching, and grabbing.
- Must be able to pass a Federal DOT drug and alcohol screen.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Experience working with Body Filler (Bondo)
- Drywall Finishing
- Finishing Carpentry Experience
- Autobody Experience

- Rotorcraft's Bondo Technician is a safety sensitive transportation position. The DOT's Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation - 49 CFR 40.151(e) - does not authorize "medical marijuana" issued under state law to be a valid medical explanation for a safety sensitive transportation employee's positive drug test result.
