Rotorcraft Repair & Manufacturing LLC holds a repair station from the Federal Aviation Administration for non-destructive inspection techniques and the maintenance and modification of bonded structures for helicopter main and tail helicopter rotor blades. We offer a full range of inspection and restoration services from non-destructive testing of aviation and non-aviation articles to full overhaul of civil, public use, and military main and tail rotor blades. We also have capabilities to modify blades from and to various configurations.
Role Description
- The Controller is the top accounting leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, internal, compliance, and human resource. This position will manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, ensuring the integrity of financial statements and driving process improvements. The role reports directly to the CFO and serves as a strategic advisor on financial matters and human resource matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of accounting including accounts receivable/payable, budgeting, and double entry bookkeeping.
- Prepare and present accurate financial reports to senior management, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manage state and local taxation matters
- Oversee corporate accounting functions, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards.
- Develop and monitor budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
- Monthly forecasts.
- Implement working capital reduction strategies.
- Conduct job cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
- Perform sales margin analysis.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Striven to maintain accurate financial records.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end close processes and annual audits.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial reporting across multiple locations.
- Oversee inventory costing, observation, and compilation
- Conduct book-to-physical analysis
- Contribute to the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Partner with Operations leadership team to understand and align the HR function to the organization’s goals and business direction.
- Manage the staffing process for plant production and office positions, including recruiting, interviewing and hiring. Develop and implement recruitment strategies.
- Conduct new hire orientation and ensure proper onboarding of new hires.
- Responsible for payroll inputs and assist with the weekly hourly and bi-weekly salary payroll processing and verification.
- Perform benefit administration. Manage benefit-related programs with local businesses.
- Communicate and enforce policies uniformly throughout plant and company as required to ensure legal compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of best practices and regulatory changes.
- Drive and promote communication for corporate programs and initiatives relating to the department.
- Design and implement employee retention strategies.
- Develop and coordinate employee relations activities.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution. Assist with disciplinary actions and terminations as necessary.
- Manage Workers’ Compensation. Maintain OSHA log.
- Lead safety initiatives working closely with Operations. Enforce safety rules and OSHA compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, double entry bookkeeping, corporate accounting, and governmental accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial report writing with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA designation is a plus.
- Experience in Human Resources.
- Proven experience in employee relations, recruitment, and hiring key leadership positions.
