Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Warehouse Technician to join our team. This role is crucial for our upcoming D365 transformation project. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, including relabeling racks, naming locations, setting up Points of Use (POU) vs. Points of Transfer (PTO), and ensuring seamless warehouse operations.
The role will be based in Rochester, N.Y. for a period of 12 months. This role is paid hourly between $25.00 ph and $30.00 ph.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
- Relabeling Racks: Accurately relabel racks to align with the new D365 system requirements.
- Systematic Naming: Implement a systematic approach to naming locations within the warehouse.
- POU vs. PTO Setup: Support the establishment and maintenance of Points of Use (POU) and Points of Transfer (PTO) to optimize workflow and inventory management.
- One Part, One Location: Help implement and manage a “one part, one location” strategy to ensure each part is stored in a designated location, improving inventory accuracy and retrieval efficiency.
- Plan for Every Part: Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive plan for every part (PFEP) to ensure all parts are properly managed, including storage, handling, and movement within the facility.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the operations teams to ensure smooth integration and functionality of the D365 system.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of best practices in warehouse operations.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Technical knowledge
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Personal Specification
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
