Floor Care Technician
This janitorial position works a typical night shift that may require some weekend hours and earns a competitive starting hourly wage of $20 /hour based on experience.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of various floor types, including vacuuming, mopping, buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and polishing. Utilize specialized floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, carpet extractors, burnishers, and vacuums to clean and maintain floors.
DAY-TO-DAY:
As a Floor Care Technician, you play an essential role in our company's success. You show up to work each day ready to provide proper floor care for our clients. Before using any equipment to strip, buff, wax, or shampoo the flooring, you perform a maintenance check to ensure the equipment is functioning properly. In addition, you dust and clean the walls, bathrooms, offices, and breakrooms when requested by our clients. Your commitment to maintaining a strong work ethic shines through in all you do. You follow through with all company procedures and safety protocols, keep open lines of communication with supervisors, and complete every job with professionalism! At the end of the day, you walk out those doors knowing you left only your best out on the floor.
Operates various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as
automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, burnishers, vacuums,
sweepers, pressure wash equipment and carpet extractors. Provides daily
preventive equipment maintenance on all equipment used.
- Dust mops, cleans and burnishes floors; strips, refinishes, scrubs and/or recoats
floors; machine scrubs floors according to floor maintenance schedules.
- Performs general cleaning duties which include trash removal, dusting, vacuuming,
dust and wet mopping, restroom cleaning and glass cleaning routinely and for
special projects.
- Vacuums, spot cleans, restores and deep extracts carpets as needed.
- Maintains custodial closet, chemicals and equipment. Reports on the need for
equipment repairs.
- Moves and replaces furniture as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in floor care.
Knowledge of how to strip, wax, and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance.
Experience operating various pieces of cleaning equipment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and follow directions.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Must have experience as a Floor Care Specialist.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Can pass a background check.
Must have reliable transportation.
