GOLF SHOP MERCHANDISE MANAGER

Round Hill Country Club is a private, 18-hole facility located in the beautiful East Bay. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional experience to our members and guests. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer/Merchandiser to manage our Pro Shop operations and ensure a first-class experience for our membership.
The Pro Shop Merchandise Manager is responsible for the success and profitability of the Pro Shop merchandise concession. This includes planning, purchasing, coordinating, and merchandising inventory, as well as tracking, documenting, and promoting product sales. This position requires strong strategic analysis to maximize sales, profitability, and member satisfaction while ensuring inventory control and financial performance.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR!
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Pro Shop merchandise concession to meet operational goals and member expectations.
- Develop and execute buying plans for golf equipment, apparel, and accessories, ensuring a diverse and desirable selection.
- Maintain inventory levels that align with seasonal demands and member traffic.
- Establish and monitor financial goals, including cost-of-goods-sold percentages and open-to-buy plans.
- Design and implement visual merchandising strategies to enhance member experience and sales.
- Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of all product purchases, sales, and inventory.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and safeguard against theft, damage, and loss.
- Train, motivate, and manage Pro Shop staff to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales goals.
- Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure favorable terms and timely deliveries.
- Analyze sales trends and financial reports to inform strategies for promotions, markdowns, and clearance sales.
- Maintain and promote an orderly, attractive Pro Shop environment that reflects Round Hill's high standards.
- Use customer data to personalize experiences, track preferences, and enhance member satisfaction.
- Attend merchandise buying shows and conferences to stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.
Qualifications:
- Fundamental knowledge of golf and Pro Shop merchandising operations.
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Proven ability to analyze sales trends and develop effective strategies for profitability.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on member satisfaction.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with inventory control systems and point-of-sale platforms (Jonas preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
