Description
Round Hill Music is a full-service, creative music company with a core focus on music publishing. The company runs a music publishing division, sync, copyright and royalty administration, a record label and label services division as well as a Nashville songwriter services group with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and London.
This executive is responsible for overseeing the entire US Administration and Data Analytics teams. They work closely with various stakeholders, including the Finance, IT, Legal, & Creative departments, to ensure that back-office operations align with the company’s overall strategy & standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Effective management and motivation of all US Administration staff, which currently includes Copyright, Mechanical Licensing, Royalty Processing, Audits, Income Tracking & Data Analytics; ensuring that the department performs as a cohesive and effective unit.
- Management of department including employee hiring, staff oversight and implementation of robust business procedures
- Refine and progress department processes, taking advantage of all current and future technical systems and solutions.
- Maintain ownership of the royalty bank accounts, including oversight on all cash receipts, intercompany transfers, and payments out to external clients and Fund bank accounts as required.
- Take business ownership of the Company’s operational tools (currently iMaestro, Music Maestro and SR1) and work with the COO, while acting as Project Manager, to drive forward the initiative to review alternative systems and then take the leading role
- Maintain collaborative relationships with all senior executives of the Company while working closely on a day-to-day basis with the CFO and VP of IT
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with external collective management organizations (eg: ASCAP, BMI and the MLC) who represent the Company’s rights, in addition to other significant licensees on the publishing, label and neighboring rights sides
- Work closely with the VP of Data Analytics to develop transparency in reporting that will both aid and further the business
- Build and sustain an efficient flow of required data to the Finance team and Company’s investors
Requirements
- Music Publishing industry experience in Operations, Administration, or other related field required (10 years).
- At least 5 years’ experience managing high-performing and high-volume teams with experience managing managers.
- Proven experience in project management
- Excellent understanding of international music rights management, collective management organizations, rights flows, and licensing concepts
- An analytical mind that can decipher concepts leading to the development and implementation of business procedures
- A full understanding of data elements that exist within the music ecosystem along with ideas on how to leverage the same to the Company’s commercial advantage
- A working knowledge of music industry systems is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills with experience and ability to work closely with senior executives, Board members, and investors
- A love and passion for music
- BA or master’s degree in the relevant field preferred
