- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, master’s degree preferred
- 5 years of professional teaching experience in the grade band
- Illinois Professional Educator’s Licensure with grade band certification
- Successfully demonstrated superior knowledge of state and education standards for the specified grade band
- Has consistently demonstrated proficient or higher on 3 consecutive performance evaluations
- Considerable knowledge and understanding of current research-based instructional strategies and the district’s education philosophy, teaching methods, and approaches
- Demonstrates knowledge of a wide variety of assessment tools and the purpose for assessment
- Demonstrates knowledge of standards-based learning and assessment
- Demonstrates the ability to analyze and create an effective response to student assessment data
- Manages time and schedule to maximize teacher and learning support
- Communicates effectively with all members of the school district and community including giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Ability to effectively develop and give presentations for a variety of purposes
- Knowledge of relevant student assessments including nationally normed, state accountability, and locally developed assessments

Professional development will be focused on research-based instructional strategies, curriculum implementation, and assessment techniques aligned with the district’s educational philosophy
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure the effective application of professional development content
- Collaborate with teachers to plan, model, and co-teach effective lessons using current research-based instructional strategies
- Observe classrooms to improve instruction, build supportive relationships, and provide constructive feedback in a non-evaluative context
- Monitor and assess the impact of instructional strategies on student performance and create effective responses to data
- Provide individualized and group coaching and support to teachers, focusing on specific instructional goals and standards-based learning and assessment
- Support the integration of technology into instruction to enhance student learning experiences
- Stay abreast of current coaching research and trends, employing effective methods in practice
- Performs other duties as assigned
