Overview
The Cook is responsible for providing a healthy, fulfilling meal for campers in a loving, Christian Environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking, cleaning, and serving large quantities of food
- Using camp kitchen equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
- Grills, ovens, deep fryers, dishwasher, large mixer, food slicer, coffee maker, etc.
- Cleaning all camp kitchen equipment and camp kitchens as needed.
- Maintaining a high standard of sanitation in food preparation.
- Stocking pantry, storerooms, coolers, freezers on delivery days
Education/Experience
- Large quantity cooking experience preferred.
Other Requirements
- Personal Qualities: Strives for good communication with co-workers, campers, volunteers. Has an interest in christian camping; projects good health habits; has health and stamina to perform job effectively; maintains self-control in stressful situations; able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical Demands: Exposed heat from burners, ovens, and steam trays. Exposed to cutting and slicing equipment and machine moving parts. Required to stand for prolonged periods.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Valid Ohio drivers license
