Key Responsibilities of the Materials Manager:
- Team Leadership: Oversee and guide the Purchasing and Inventory Management teams, focusing on performance, task delegation, development, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Operations Management: Direct day-to-day operations to meet customer demands, maximize production efficiency, and minimize costs while maintaining inventory control.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and the achievement of strategic goals such as SIOP.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve processes, set performance targets, and implement effective systems to optimize operational efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all material management functions adhere to the highest safety and compliance standards.
The ideal Materials Manager will have:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in business management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree and APICS certification are a plus).
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in materials management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in a complex manufacturing or aerospace setting.
- Leadership Skills: A proven track record of leading high-performing teams, driving accountability, and achieving results.
- Aerospace Experience: Familiarity with aerospace materials, such as bearings, machining, and inspection methodologies, is a plus.
- Technology Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with ERP systems.
Compensation: $130k-170k bonus and excellent additional benefits.
