What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Director position at Round-Peg Solutions (RPS)?
We've been retained to hire a bold and experienced Tax Director to oversee tax strategy, compliance, and reporting functions. This high-impact role requires a confident leader with a proven track record in managing complex tax issues and providing strategic guidance to senior executives.
Our client is an award winning, multi-billion USD turnover manufacturing organization who have an enviable reputation amongst their customer base for world class product quality. The Tax Director will have a key role, working alongside C-Suite to shape strategic decision making.
The salary range for the role is $220,000 - 310,000, with a 20% bonus.
Key Responsibilities of the Tax Director:
- Develop and implement global tax strategies, providing actionable insights to senior leadership and ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Manage federal, state, and international tax compliance, including Pillar Two, R&D tax credits, and ASC 740 reporting
- Optimize transfer pricing strategies and lead audits, mitigating tax risks and resolving inquiries
- Build and mentor a high-performing tax team, enhancing collaboration across finance, legal, and operations
- Establish and improve tax workflows, systems, and controls to ensure efficiency and adherence to regulatory changes
The ideal Tax Director will have the below qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- A minimum of 10 years in corporate tax, with demonstrated leadership experience
- Prior Big 4 experience is preferred, alongside private industry experience in a multi-state/location organization
- Expertise in multi-state taxation; international tax experience is a significant advantage.
- Robust understanding/appreciation for; transfer pricing, R&D tax credits, and compliance with evolving global tax standards such as Pillar Two
- Confident communicator, capable of articulating tax strategies and complex issues to senior leadership.
- CPA preferred
