The Purchasing Department supports the District’s mission by maintaining transparency, fiscal responsibility, and operational excellence.
About the Role :
The Manager of Purchasing will lead the routine operations, administration, and promotion of key procurement programs, including the Supplier Diversity Program, vendor management program, and the electronic procurement system. This role will oversee purchasing processes, develop and enforce policies, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and District policies. Reporting to the leadership team, the Manager of Purchasing will play a pivotal role in driving organizational efficiency and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee Purchasing Office operations, staff, and policy implementation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships and lead high-level competitive procurement processes.
- Drive departmental improvements and align purchasing strategies with District needs.
- Hire, train, and evaluate staff while fostering a positive team culture.
- Engage with community, governmental, and business stakeholders to promote District initiatives.
