We are looking for a HR Business Partner who will report directly to our Vice President, Human Resources. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a critical role that requires strategic partnerships, relationship building and communication skills to develop and deliver solutions that support the business and reinforce the culture across the company.
As an HRBP, you will be responsible for assisting managers and individual contributors across the organization, implement processes, projects, and objectives related to HR compliance, benefits, performance management, talent management, employee relations and employee development. You will proactively stay abreast of all federal, state, and local employment laws and legislation to incorporate into the company policies, processes, and procedures. This role partner with multiple stakeholders, including HR, legal, compliance, and leadership.

Responsibilities
- Provide support on people-related matters to help the business achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong, trusting relationships with managers and leaders; serve as a trusted thought partner, influencing, coaching, and providing guidance as needed. Serve as a change agent to support business needs while reinforcing the company culture.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues on matters related to employee relations, talent and performance management, total rewards and employee development.
- Ensure program compliance with local, state, and federal regulations on established internal HR policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct periodic audits, making recommendations for improvement. These include but are not limited to confidentiality, labor laws, FMLA, OSHA reporting, etc.
- Assist in the maintenance of performance management platform, advise and support managers in the performance management of their teams, including performance reviews, feedback and coaching, career development, and day to day employee relations.
- Conducts and provides expert and timely consultation and resources relating to investigations.
- Respond to general policy questions from employees and managers and advise them on HR policy and practice.
- Partner with the business in resource planning and talent management efforts.
- Assist with day-to-day administration of policies and programs related to Human Resources functions.
- Protect the interests of employees and the organization in accordance with the company’s policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- Manage specific projects as determined by leadership and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.
- 10 years progressive experience in a human resource position, with 6 years’ experience as a human resource business partner.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Resources-related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the responsibilities of the job such as those listed.
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations in employment law and the mortgage industry.
- Strong comfort with technology tools such as HRIS, LMS and skilled in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong business acumen—demonstrated ability to learn business objectives quickly and influence decisions that impact business outcomes.
- High degree of discretion, sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to collaborate internally and externally to achieve desired outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of Employee/Labor law, legal compliance requirements, Human Resources trends and newly-surfacing litigation/regulatory areas.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong investigative skills, and experience handling complex and sensitive employee relations matters.
- Ability to foster a sense of trust and promote healthy accountability.
- Demonstrated sense of accountability and dependability for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.
- Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
