Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the accounting department, and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards. This position requires a strong understanding of technical accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software.
Duties
- Update the general ledger by posting journal entries ensuring all entries are accurate.
- Code and process accounts payable transactions efficiently using software such as Sage 100 and Quadient.
- Assist with reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Establish and maintain good relations with vendors and coworkers.
- Support payroll processing through Paylocity ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Maintain electronic DOT records for company equipment.
- Assist in maintaining company asset records.
- Assist with monthly and year end closing.
- Code and review company credit card charges for accuracy.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed, including filing and scanning documents and maintaining records.
Experience
- 1-2 years experience as an Accounting Clerk is preferred.
- Familiarity with technical accounting practices and principles is essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage 100 and Paylocity is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required for managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated to complete tasks independently.
