What does a Rouse PTA do?
- Provides PT services under the supervision and direction of PT who is licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Communicates and coordinates treatment functions with other disciplines in a constructive manner that helps build team effectiveness and cooperation.
- Communicates with PT and DOR regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems, and successes.
- Promotes a safe working environment and works to eliminate fire and safety hazards broken or defective equipment supplies.
- Participates in Care Plan, Interdisciplinary Rehab and Department meetings as appropriate.
- Participates in educational in-services/programs regarding occupational therapy to staff, residents, and the community at large.
- Ensures cleanliness of department and facilities per infection control policies and procedures.
- Participates in facility/department QA/TQI programs as appropriate.
- Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in treatment planning, implementation, & monitoring of resident progress.
- Adheres to professional, ethical, & legal standards of practice.
- Enhances therapy department by working together as a team to accept ownership for tasks while exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Ensure that the dignity of all residents is preserved as you carry out working tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What are the requirements to be a PTA at the Rouse?
- Must be a graduate from a credited PTA program and be licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Experience in a long-term care environment a plus.
