What does a Rouse Resident Care Assistant do?
- Support a positive, homelike environment for the residents including making beds, keeping resident rooms neat and organized, stocking general room supplies and labeling personal belongings.
- Respond to call bells, and alerting nursing staff to resident needs.
- Provide social and emotional support to residents including 1:1 engagement and support.
- Process resident diet information and maintain resident tray tickets with preferences. Has good knowledge of residents’ diets/allergies for accuracy in serving.
- Provides pre-meal set up, delivers household food, performs outlined food prep duties, arranges food on steam table and assures quality and availability of items needed for all residents; ensures that food served is proper temperature and maintains necessary paperwork.
- Assist with meal service, transport residents to and from meals, setting up individual meal service, passing beverages and meals.
- Provides post-meal clean up.
- Ensure that the dignity of all clients is preserved.
- Enhances department by working together as a team to accept ownership for tasks while exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
What are the requirements to be a Resident Care Assistant at the Rouse?
- Must be willing and able to pass basic academic skills review.
- Must be willing and able to pass drug/alcohol screening and complete physical.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Direct care or food service a plus.
