Position Summary/General Description:
A bartender will greet customers, take beverage orders, mix and serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages in a courteous and timely manner, check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol, keep the bar area clean and stocked with supplies, use a point of sales (POS) system to complete accurate money transactions while being familiar with menu items, prices, garnishes, glassware and recipes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain bank and complete money transactions using a point of sale system without variance (e.g., maintain cash drawer; accept cash/bankcards for payment; count money; return correct change ensure proper identification for certain transactions; issue receipts, document discrepancies, and sign, count, and balance before and after each shift).
- Maintain appearance and cleanliness of bar/work area such as but not limited to: arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays, sweep, wipe counter/table tops, beer towers, sink areas, reach-in coolers/cupboards, remove trash, mop, wash glasses, utensils and bar equipment.
- In friendly manner perform duties such as but not limited to: greet customers, take beverage orders from serving staff and/or patrons, check identification to verify age requirements of everyone who appears to be thirty-five (35) years of age or younger for purchase of alcohol, mix ingredients (e.g., liquor, soda, water, juice, sugar, bitters) to prepare alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages following recipes, slice/pit fruit for garnishing, and serve beverages including wine and bottled/draft beer.
- Assist bar back in maintaining an adequate supply of products/materials by restocking alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, replace kegs, cut/slice and replenish garnishes, refill ice wells, paper products, glassware, condiments, etc.
- Knowledgeable with all menu items, garnishes, glassware, beverage prices, beverage recipes and proper measurement (use of a jigger required to ensure pours are within one ounce (1oz.) range).
- Knowledgeable of tribal, federal, state, and local sanitary regulations regarding the temperature requirements, preparation, maintenance, and storage of food and drink products.
- Knowledgeable of all company, department policies, and state liquor laws regarding consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Assist with inventory and inventory control.
- Claim tips received according to laws governing wage reporting.
- Promote brands/products to increase sales.
- Assist in training new bartenders.
- Act with urgency at all times to minimize wait times; maintain a quick and purposeful pace.
- Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greet guests; provide fast and friendly beverage service to guests).

- Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings (e.g., gift shop, restaurants, theater, etc.), providing accurate directions, and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
- At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
- Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have relevant work experience to include strong knowledge, ability, and skill in mixing a variety of alcoholic beverages.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
Licensing & Certification:
- Obtain, within thirty days from day of employment, alcohol service certification, and maintain certification throughout employment.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
- Must be familiar with proper glassware used for beverages.
- Must obtain proper footwear for safety and health.
- Operate Point-of-Sale system (MICROS)
- Operate/maintain dispensers (e.g., Capton System, fountain, juice, creamer, coffee and tea brewers).
Essential Physical Requirements:
- The job requires the ability to bend over, hear, reach overhead, stand, talk, turn/twist, walk, and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
- The job requires the ability to balance/climb, crouch/stoop, and kneel 25-50% of the time.
- The job requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift, and slide/transfer 1-50 lbs. 25-50% of the time.
