Position Summary/General Description:
A Cage Cashier is responsible for performing monetary transactions for guests in an assigned window bank and maintaining an accurate draw balance while providing excellent customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Adhere to departmental procedures, safety rules and health regulations and Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board/Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority rules and regulations.
- Complete Multiple Transaction Log (MTL), Negotiable Instrument Log (NIL), Currency Transaction Report (CTR), and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) accurately. Count all money straps and record date with initials/ID number on strap. Rotate currency, ensuring the straps with the oldest dates are used first.
- Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact, speak accurately, clearly, and verbally greet guests).
- Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improve; be receptive to change and willing to embrace challenges with team-spirit).
- Maintain experience with money handling, counting, and complex mathematical skills.
- Cash all types of checks for customers (travelers, personal, cash advances) in accordance with the company’s check cashing policies and procedures. Records all checks cashed in the specified computer system.
- Redeem chips/tokens, ticket in ticket out (TITO), vouchers and foreign currency (Canadian only).
- Secure and document all recordable transactions made with company assets.
- Fill out and sign variance form if bank does not balance at end of shift, which must include possible reason for every variance.
- Correctly operate any cage equipment (JetSort, JetScan, currency sorter/counter).
- Process jackpots correctly.
- Request supervisor assistance when needed.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings, provide accurate directions and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
- Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd or unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
- At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED Certification preferred.
- Three (3) months in cashiering or relevant work experience preferred.
Licensing & Certification:
- None.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience operating counting equipment (money sorters/counters, 10-key calculator).
Essential Physical Requirements:
- The job requires the ability to hear, stand, see and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
- The job requires the ability to turn/twist, push/pull 1-50 lbs., carry, lift, slide/transfer 1-25 lbs. 2550% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands:
- The job requires the ability to organize, read, and perform math skills 51-100% of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Work Environment (inside/outside):
- The job is performed indoors with exposure to fumes (e.g., cigarette smoke) and occasional exposure to hot/cold temperatures, loud noises and confined areas.
Other Requirements:
- Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna’s Gaming Control Board.
- Comply with LDC and the Federal Government Bank Secrecy Act by acquiring and/or maintaining a Title 31 Certification.
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening and cashiers test.
