Position Summary:
As a veterinarian, you will find purpose and fulfillment in enhancing your skills within the fast-paced world of both shelter medicine and community wellness clinics. Collaborating with shelter staff and pet owners from the community, you will play a vital role in mitigating animal suffering by ensuring optimal and affordable veterinary care for shelter and community pets while working to prevent pet overpopulation and homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality medical care to shelter and community animals
- Oversight of daily operations of Veterinary Services and Community Wellness Clinic
- Managing health of Shelter population, surgical program, and disease control protocols
- Serving as a key member of Shelter administrative team and overseeing veterinary operations
- Fostering collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing among team members

Qualifications:
- Current licensure to practice in the State of Colorado (or obtain license soon after hiring)
- Minimum one-year experience as an animal shelter veterinarian with high-quality/high-volume surgical experience
- Qualified and eligible to obtain and retain DEA license
- Knowledge of population and individual animal health management, disease prevention and control, and epidemiology
- Proven decision-making and diagnostic skills
- Strong customer service, communication, emotional intelligence, work ethic, and integrity skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish reading, writing, understanding, and speaking (plus wage premium)
- Able to foster a positive work environment and be viewed as a motivator and leader
- Experience in molding and developing staff into a cohesive team
