The Nursing Laboratory Assistant is responsible for supporting students in the College’s Nursing Skills Simulation Lab on an ‘as needed’ basis. The lab assistant might be asked to assist with simulations in different courses or assist with open lab hours. Assisting fundamentals labs with set up and implementation is also a possibility.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Assists students in their practice of psychomotor nursing skills individually or in groups.2. Performs preparation and clean-up for scheduled lab classes3. Assists nursing lab faculty and director with scheduled labs and simulation labs as needed4. Runs computerized manikins for simulation5. Maintains lab and lab equipment, including cleaning of manikins and simulators6. Performs other duties as assigned by nursing director or dean.OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY: The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS: Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time
