Located in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont, Rowan County is attractively and conveniently nestled between the state’s largest city and its Capitol. Rowan County is made up of more than 20 departments and nearly 1,250 employees that are committed to providing a wealth of services to County residents and businesses.
The County is currently accepting applications for the position of CPS Social Worker (In-Home Services). This position provides intensive casework services to children and families where child neglect and/or abuse have occurred; assesses needs and implements service plans to minimize risk and promote family reunification; includes visits to homes, case documentation, court testimony, collaboration with community agencies; and conducts some CPS investigations.
Requires skill in crisis intervention, risk assessment, individual and family counseling, and knowledge of all aspects of child protective services.
Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work and one year of human services experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and two years of experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field and three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative Program will equal one year of experience credit; degrees/coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution; if degree is not in Social Work, please submit a copy of transcript with application; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Bilingual applicants are preferred.
Starting Salary $66,300 - $72,900 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
