The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Public Health Nurse III. This position assumes responsibility for day-to-day operational coordination of the health department’s Immunization services; provides clinical nursing services and operational supervision of nursing, interpreter and office assistant staff; identifies clinical needs, maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials; assesses equipment and capital outlay needs and provides written justification of needs; serves as preceptor and orients new staff to clinic policies and procedures; assists nursing supervisors and director in program planning and review of program outcomes, compiling data and reports as needed and requested.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of public health nursing experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience, two of which must have been in public health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least five years of nursing experience, two of which are in clinical/operational supervision are preferred; current RN license with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required; Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred; proficient personal computer skills are essential. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
Starting Salary $73,100 - $80,400 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
