Located in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont, Rowan County is attractively and conveniently nestled between the state’s largest city and its Capitol. The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Public Health Nurse III. This position assumes responsibility for day-to-day operational coordination of the health department’s Immunization services; provides clinical nursing services and operational supervision of nursing, interpreter and office assistant staff; identifies clinical needs, maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials; assesses equipment and capital outlay needs and provides written justification of needs; serves as preceptor and orients new staff to clinic policies and procedures; assists nursing supervisors and director in program planning and review of program outcomes, compiling data and reports as needed and requested.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and two years of public health nursing experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and three years of professional nursing experience, two of which must have been in public health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; at least five years of nursing experience, two of which are in clinical/operational supervision are preferred; current RN license with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required; Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred; proficient personal computer skills are essential. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
Starting Salary $73,100 - $80,400 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
