Autism Support Coach
Term of Employment: 10 months
Reports to: Ancillary Support Specialist
Purpose: Serves as an expert in best practices in serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other student needing support in communication, social skills and sensory areas. Supports specialized programs in the district at the elementary and middle school levels to implement a social skills curriculum and sensory environment for specific students. Works under the guidance and direction of the district Autism Lead and supports the teachers work of data collection, specially designed instruction and implementation and professional learning and coaching.
Qualifications
· Current licensure in any special education area
· Three (3) years of teaching experience in an area of special education
· Minimum of 2 years of direct work with students with autism in the educational setting
· Knowledge of programming and supports available to students.
· Understanding of policies governing students with disabilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develops, models and monitors supports for students in conjunction with the classroom teacher
· Supports and provide feedback to teachers in designated schools.
· Training staff to improve their understanding of Autism.
· Collects and analyzes data necessary to advance supports for students.
· Works closely with related service providers and evaluators regarding processes and problem-solving.
· Supports the beliefs and commitments of the Exceptional Children’s Department
· Completes all duties assigned by the Autism Lean, Ancillary Support Specialist and Executive Director of EC

Salary : $41,000 - $55,950
