The College of Education and the Department of Content Area Teacher Education (CATE) is searching for qualified and experienced adjuncts in the area of
Science Education.
All positions require availability during the regular school day.
The appointment consists of supervision of science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and / or Physical Science) teacher candidates. The successful candidate will demonstrate a constructivist based theoretical framework centered on a philosophy that is a grounded in social justice.
Qualifications : Required
Master's or doctoral degree in science education and / or related area from an accredited institution of higher education in a field at the time of appointmentMeets state licensure requirements for teachersA minimum of 3 years of successful teaching in P-12 settingsDemonstrated ability in communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsDemonstrated commitment to fostering academic achievement, social and personal responsibility, and social justiceDemonstrated commitment to working in an environment devoted to collaboration, collegiality, professional development, diversity, scholarly inquiry, student learning, civic responsibility, and respect for all peopleDemonstrated commitment to working with P-12 schoolsA teaching / learning philosophy consistent with the mission of the College of EducationPreferred
Experience with the Danielson FrameworkExperience with performance assessment measures.Experience teaching in postsecondary settingsExperience teaching content in areas such as : Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Science at a secondary level (6-12)Starting Date :
