The Editorial Coordinator plays a key role in tracking department work flows and ensuring that proprietary magazines and other projects are completed per established schedules. The job requires a well-organized, detail-oriented, disciplined individual who reliably carries out essential tasks and demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication. The coordinator is expected to conduct himself/herself in the best interests of RPI and to adhere to the policies and values of the company. The coordinator will be called upon to compile and prepare items for publication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Track editorial workflows.
- Ensure that SmartSheet pages related to Editorial are kept current.
- Issue writer’s agreements to freelance contributors.
- Maintain regular contact with writers to ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Provide status reports at Editorial and Art Department meetings.
- Carry out writing assignments at the direction of the executive editor.

The Editorial Coordinator is expected to manage his/her time well, cooperate with members of other departments and seek always to grow professionally. Close attention to deadlines and an unfailing commitment to accuracy are essential.
Education or Experience
A College degree in journalism, communication or media studies is preferred. Familiarity with SmartSheet project management software is highly desirable.
