Under the direction of a designated administrator assists a certificated teacher in providing support to behaviorally challenged individuals or small groups of students; monitors, redirects, and modifies student progress regarding inappropriate behaviors and performance, makes presentations and develops activities to assist students in improving academic performance, self-esteem, social skills and positive behaviors; provides training and supervision to students involved in school programs such as Cross-Age or Peer Tutoring, SARB etc., and performs other related duties as required. POSITION
Permanent positions in this class are assigned to work five and one half (5.5) hours per day, five (5) days a week, nine and one half (9.5) months a year. An eligibility list is being established to fill current vacancies, hire substitutes and to fill future vacancies for the next six months.

The hourly salary for the job classifications are as follows:
Behavior Support Assistant - $21.24 - $25.90
Behavior Support Assistant - Bilingual (Spanish) - $21.78 - $26.54
