Job Title: Pipe Layer
Status: Full-time
Duties Include:
- Installs and repairs water, reclaimed water, telephone, gas, sewer, and drainage systems.
- Signals operators of equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
- Positions, aligns, joins, wraps, and seals sections of pipe and fittings in trench.
- Checking slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
- Tapping and drilling holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
- Performs variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools, such as mounting pipe hangers, sawing iron, steel, concrete, and plastic pipes using gas and/or hydraulic pipe saw and compacting backfill using mechanical compactor.
- Covering pipes with earth or other materials.
- Performs other variety of non-routine tasks, some involving machines or trucks, as directed by a supervisor.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Including cleaning, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, or shoveling to accomplish tasks.
- Must have experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment.
- Construction experience (required)
