Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive business growth. This position is responsible for developing strategic sales plans, managing a team of account representatives, and building strong relationships with clients in the areas of oil, lubricants, bulk packaged products, and other associated product lines. This position will interact with existing customers and prospects along with internal departments on a daily basis with the goal of driving profitable sales and growth of gallons. The ideal candidate combines excellent leadership skills with a deep understanding of sales processes and market dynamics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Significant amount of time (possibly up to 80%) in the field working with Account Representatives
- Ensuring that they meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, etc., by establishing personal contact and rapport with top decision makers
- Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
- Set example for Account Representatives in areas of personal character, commitment, organization and selling skills and work habits
- Conduct regular coaching and counseling with Account Representatives to build motivation and selling skills
- Maintain contact with all customers in the market area to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Implement sales and marketing programs
- Provide timely feedback to senior management
- Resolve customer issues regarding sales and service
- Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts
- Prospecting for new customers, recommend equipment needs
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products
- Create and conduct proposal presentations and RFP responses
- Collect monies from delinquent accounts
- Assess marketing potential of new and existing customers
- Perform sales activities on major accounts and negotiate sales prices and discounts while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
- Increase knowledge of products, sales techniques and promotion through ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
- Develop plans to ensure revenue growth in all company products
Hours
This is a full-time salary position.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will supervise a team of regional account representatives.
Travel
Travel will occur daily throughout assigned territory including Michigan, Ohio and Indiana; estimated annual miles to be driven: 30,000 miles or more.
