Roxbury Tenants of Harvard Association, Inc. (RTH) is a private 501(c)(3) multi-service non-profit housing and human service organization founded in 1969 by Mission Hill residents and Harvard University students. Our mission is to preserve the unique character of the neighborhood by moderating the expansion of local institutions into our community.
RTH is a dynamic, racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse community that owns and operates high-quality low- and moderate-income housing. Challenges facing our residents include poverty, fragile families, isolation, unemployment, literacy issues, chronic disease, disability, mental health issues, and health barriers.
RTH housing includes four high-rise buildings and 144 townhomes in the Mission Park section of the campus, a high-rise building with 145 units on Fenwood Road (the Mosaic), and 190 apartments in Victorian homes and midrise buildings on Fenwood Road, Francis Street, St. Albans Street, and Huntington Avenue. Altogether, RTH supports 1,110 units of housing for approximately 2,000 individuals and families. The primary languages spoken in our community include English, Chinese, Spanish, and Russian.
Our neighborhood is known for strong community participation, numerous social, educational, and economic opportunity programs, wellness-based initiatives, and resident services. At RTH, we strive to be a great place to live, work, and play, ensuring that everyone-regardless of race, gender, age, religion, orientation, ethnicity, physical / mental ability, economic status, or culture-has the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.
