Join our team at Roxy's Island Grill - Cedar Hills, where the vibe is always upbeat, the food is fresh, and the grill is always hot! We're looking for a dedicated Grill Cook who’s ready to jump in, grow with us, and deliver quality food every time.
***MUST BE 18 YRS of age***
- Earn between $5 and $11 per hour in tips on top of your base pay!
- During the two-week training period, your starting pay will be $15.95 per hour, with a pay increase after training is completed.
- Tips start being earned after your 7th completed shift.
- The average total wage, with tips, is between $20 and $27 per hour.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up stations with necessary ingredients, prep food for the grill, and ensure all items are ready for quick assembly.
- Maintain high cooking speed without sacrificing quality to meet fast-paced customer demands.
- Monitor and maintain the proper temperature and presentation of dishes.
- Follow recipe specifications to ensure consistent portioning and accurate inventory use.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and sanitized, following all food safety and health regulations.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Double-check orders before cooking to ensure accuracy and prevent mistakes.
- Operate and maintain the grill and other kitchen equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working as a grill cook or in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred.
- Comfort and skill in using a gas grill to cook a variety of items.
- Understanding of food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced work while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate clearly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
- Strong focus on following recipes, maintaining portion control, and ensuring consistency with every dish.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a busy restaurant environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
- A friendly, positive, and professional demeanor that supports a healthy and productive work environment.
- Willingness to learn additional kitchen tasks and work in other areas when necessary.
