Company Purpose/Mission:
Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) creates brighter futures for youth in crisis by promoting individual success and healthy relationships in a safe, healing environment, giving youth and families the tools to end the cycle of abuse. RMYA provides treatment programs for traumatized youth who most often are victims of sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse. RMYA supports using trauma-informed techniques and relationship-based approaches to create a safe environment that provides consistency, structure, and caring for the youth we serve.
Job Summary:
The Case Manager provides specialized and intensive case management services to vulnerable youth by collaborating with those individuals placed at RMYA’s Long Term Residential Treatment Program. Case Managers will ensure immediate needs (food, shower, shelter, etc.) are met and will develop and implement a plan that helps clients receive the resources needed to successfully obtain, transition, and remain in safe placement. Case Managers will be responsible for providing all case support; intakes; discharges; and development, implementation, and review of therapeutic services for assigned residents in collaboration with the primary clinician. The position requires coordination with various government agencies, community groups, civic and non-profit organizations and RMYA resources to connect youth to needed services.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Case Management:
- Provide case management for youth on assigned caseload.
- Serve as the point of contact for the youth with the treatment team about youth’s needs and progress in care.
- Attend and participate in court hearings, DFPS staffing’s, and other related meetings as needed.
- Coordinate and supervise family/sibling visits as needed.
- Maintain and update youth’s information in Client Management System. (as needed)
- Create and maintain therapeutic and youth hard files.
- Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly reports and send to youth’s treatment team.
- Manage and maintain treatment plan scheduling to review all pertinent participants within and outside of the agency.
- Assist primary clinician with development and updating of treatment plans.
- Assist program and clinical team to complete documentation needed for psychological evaluations.
- Keep detailed track of psychological evaluations, CANS assessments, medical appointments, triggered reviews, treatment plans, and documentation of youth’s progress notes, progress letters, and incident reports.
- Accurately document all relevant and appropriate information related to the youth’s case. Ensure all documentation is presented in a professional, thorough, and accurate manner.
- Identify and correct any incomplete documentation in a timely manner.
- Attend weekly staffing meetings regarding client case management.
- Assist in downloading documentation for Quarterly YFT reviews.
Intakes and Discharges:

- Participate in on-call rotation for intakes and discharges. Document information received as necessary to maintain admission/deferral log.
- Coordinate pre-admission of youths, provide new youth orientation, ensure intake documentation meets compliance requirements, completes admission assessments, and preliminary service plans in client management system.
- Complete admission paperwork for youth being placed with RMYA.
- Coordinate and oversee discharges for youth on caseload.
- Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule for intakes and discharges 24/7.
Relationships and Collaboration:
- Works in collaboration with program and all other agency staff to facilitate a team environment; participates in team meetings and commits to group decisions; role models effective team behaviors; demonstrates effective communication skills in building relationships with all employees and clients.
- Creates good working relationships with local youth servicing agencies and other area service providers and support groups to facilitate access to area resources for the clients.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards as prescribed by RMYA.
- Maintain personally required training hours.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas of client and program operations.
- Represent RMYA in a professional manner at approved events in the community.
- Be supportive of all RMYA policies and procedures, and actively participate in their development by proposing changes and updates as well as working on teams designed to improve how we work together.
- Perform special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field and 2 years case management experience or
- Master’s degree in social science or related field
- Certification/Licenses: Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must have and maintain acceptable driving record.
- Ability to maintain compliance with applicable Texas rules, regulations, and laws that govern behavioral and mental health services for youth and their families ensuring that the highest standards of generally accepted clinical, ethical, and professional standards are followed.

- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Constant walking, standing, sitting, bending, arm and wrist rotation, reaching, writing, typing; frequent lifting and carrying at least ten pounds, pushing, pulling, and occasional driving; in person attendance with face shield/mask required.
- Work Environment: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts in environmental conditions i.e., hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, noise, congested areas. fast-paced work using sensory demands i.e., hearing, vision, speech, spatial perception; dealing with multiple, complex, and repetitive tasks, working under pressure and deadlines. May be requested to work overtime and weekends for special program events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working with clients in a residential, shelter, community based, or hospital setting.
- Deep Understanding of Department of Family Services (DFPS) licensing and operating requirements.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
Successful clearance of Department of Family and Protective Services licensing background checks, (to include fingerprinting and drug testing) and maintenance of status providing ability to be present at an operation.
