Salary : £46.32 per session, including planning and preparation.

About the role
Carnival Fusion Band celebrates and combines the sounds of carnival cultures from across the world! Expect everything from Soca from Trinidad, 2
line from New Orleans, and even elements of Samba from Brazil! This group is looking for steel pan, brass, woodwind, bass, guitar, drums, and percussion players who are comfortable playing their instruments and want to join an energetic performance band.
The main purpose of this role is to lead a brand-new Carnival Band, with groups of adults as part of Make Music Adults. You will contribute to artistic design, content creation, and planning of sessions and will attend meetings and training as required.
We are looking for a leader to lead weekly sessions, help players grow in confidence and develop their skills, and have an inclusive and supportive approach. Sessions take place in 10-week blocks, with a week’s break in the middle.
It would be great if you had experience in :
- Performance and / or leading at a professional level.
- Leading groups of adults of varying abilities and from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with Additional Needs and / or Disabilities.
- Leading with the focus on achieving personal, social, and musical outcomes.
- Leading music learning using a wide range of approaches and pedagogies.
- Developing and using inclusive music practices and pedagogy.
- Creating music resources to support activities and performances.
- Excellent organisational skills, including :
- Excellent written communication skills, including the creation of music teaching materials.
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
