Royal Ambulance is seeking a highly skilled Master Technician (Class A) to perform mobile fleet maintenance and repairs on 135 ambulances and support vehicles across five counties. This role ensures fleet readiness through diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance (PM) while working independently in a mobile service van.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform PM inspections and assist PM technicians
- Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
- Maintain lighting, electrical, and HVAC systems
Equipment & Component Repairs
- Repair cabin components (doors, windows, seats, radios)
- Conduct gurney maintenance and repairs
Parts, Inventory & Documentation
- Order and track parts inventory
- Document all repairs and communicate vehicle status updates
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of automotive mechanic experience (Required)
- Clean driving record (Required)EPA 609 Certification (Required)
- Ford Transit, E-350, and E-450 experience (Required)
- Ford Factory Certifications or willingness to obtain (Required)
- Diagnostic software experience (Required)
- HVAC & electrical system repair experience (Required)
- Own tools for preventive maintenance (Required)
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking (Required)
- Experience with ambulances/emergency vehicles (Preferred)
- ASE Certifications (Preferred)
- Shift & base location flexibility (Preferred, Preferred Base: San Leandro, CA)
