Job Summary:
Highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This position involves handling a variety of accounting functions, including managing sales, recording loan transactions, processing payments, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, communicating effectively across departments, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines established by department
- Record sales and all associated costs
- Record construction loan draws
- Record loan interest withdrawals
- Complete closing analysis
- Communicate with departments regarding final costs, sales, and cash balances
- Record journal entries for cost of sales, adjustments to WIP, and allocating costs
- File and pay monthly sales and use tax
- Process and pay mortgages on time
- Make deposits as needed and journalize
- Monitor and reconcile cash balances
- Reconcile balance sheets
- Proof financial statements and provide financial packages
- Set up new notes payable and recurring payments
- Reconcile cash deposits and accounts receivable with ServiceCore reports
- Set up recurring accruals and amortizations
- Set up amortization schedules as needed
- Reconcile intercompany accounts payable/receivable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge and familiarity with all phases of accounting
- Ability to process documents and maintain their confidentiality
- Good organization and attention to detail
- Understanding of work in process
- Financial analysis
- Ability to self-review and make corrections if necessary
- Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate experience preferred
- Skills in using a multi-function copier, adding machine, multi-line phone, and other office machines required to perform job tasks
Education and Experience:
- 2-year associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in accounting
Physical Demands:
- Must be able work with a computer for a minimum of 7 hours daily either standing or sitting
- Must be able to read printed materials and computer screen with or without MS or other software accessibility functions
- Must be able to effectively communicate in e-mail, by phone, or in person during the course of the workday
