Summary:
This position is responsible for installing underground piping to connect buildings and building sites to water supplies, sewers, and stormwater management systems. Must have knowledge of excavation, alignment of pipe, establishing and maintaining proper grade, proper joining of pipes and proper backfill procedures. Typical schedules are Monday Friday, with weekends required as needed.
Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.

- Must be able to read site plans and use pipe and grade lasers
- Lifting and pulling of up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Cut, fit and lay underground piping
- Digging, shoveling, and trenchwork

Assist Laborers when not laying pipe, duties to include:
- Sweeping
- Climbing on ladders, up to 25 feet
- Hand mixing of materials
- Loading and unloading which includes lifting and carrying
- Operate power tool and equipment
- Working on elevated platforms
Frequency of activities is determined daily according to job site requirements.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma and/or one (1) year pipelaying experience in construction environment
- Previous experience in civil utilities preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Walking or standing without rest periods up to 2.5 hours
- Ability to work outside all day in the elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Repeated bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, climbing, digging, shoveling, sweeping
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance of duty on secured locations. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of an offer.
