Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?Aids in the maintenance of effective regulatory relations with the Federal Reserve and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and compliance program for RBC’s prudential regulator ongoing supervision, continuous monitoring, and exams (collectively, Regulatory Engagements).What will you do?Facilitates examinations and routine meetings conducted by RBC’s prudential regulators (primarily the Fed and OCC) for matters related to RBC’s U.S. businessesCoordinates and / or conducts due diligence and determines materiality of regulatory issues raised in connection with regulatory requests and examinationsWorks closely with relevant subject matter experts and stakeholders across CUSO to draft and prepare responses to regulatory requests and examinationsMaintains thorough knowledge of banking regulations, bank operations and procedures, risk management controls, and other internal control objectives and practices, relevant to RBC’s prudential regulatorsFacilitates and summarizes examiners’ findings and perspectives and provides notification and escalation as appropriateContribute to and manage technical enhancements and expansion of the department’s Regulatory Engagement recordkeeping system, as applicableSummarizes and prepares reporting that communicates exam activity and issues for ExecutivesPrepares internal reports for RBC Management and Boards of Directors, and promotes information sharing of existing and new material regulatory issuesComplete special projects, as assignedWhat do you need to succeed?Bachelor’s degreeSignificant regulatory and reputational impactInterpretation and scoping of regulatory requests and responsesDetermines if regulatory matter as applied to RBC policies and procedures presents risk to RBC or an individualDetermines if matter warrants risk escalation and to whomEvaluates RBC policies and procedures through review of cases and may recommend policy and procedure enhancementIndependent review and challenge of managements’ responses to regulatory mattersWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
